Explore the Path of Creativity with author David Giuliano

Where does our creative impulse originate? What inner longing does our writing address? Join Muskoka Authors Association on Thursday, September 12, with guest speaker David Giuliano who will address these explore the ‘via creative’ – the path of creativity.

Giuliano is a Spiritual Guide, Speaker and an award-winning writer of fiction and nonfiction books, essays, and poems. The Undertaking of Billy Buffone is his first novel and winner of the Bressani Prize for Literary Fiction. It’s Good to Be Here: Stories we tell about cancer is a spiritual memoir about a 20-year journey with cancer, “to which [the author] brings fierce honesty and humour in a conversation about the metaphysics of medicine and the power of story to heal.”

His collection of essays – Postcards from the Valley: Encounters with Fear, Faith and God  was a Canadian Best Seller. Giuliano has also published two illustrated children’s books: The Alligator in Naomi’s Pillowand Jeremiah and the Letter e. 

Ordained as a minister in The United Church of Canada, Giuliano has three Master’s degrees, in Divinity, Theology and Science and diplomas in Expressive Arts Therapy and in Spiritual Direction. He was also honored with an Honorary Doctorate from Huntington University at Laurentian in Sudbury, Ontario. He is inspirational speaker and was the 39th Moderator of The United Church of Canada.

Giuliano and his wife live on the north shore of Lake Superior, where they raised their now adult children, Jeremiah and Naomi. An outdoors enthusiast, he enjoys Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in winter and trail running, hiking, biking and sea kayaking on the big lake in the summer.

Time: 7:00 – 9:00 pm. Doors open at 6:30 pm
