The Gravenhurst High School athletes of the month of December are Grace Millar, Quinn Farlie and Aiden Courville.
Grace Millar is a member of the girls hockey teams and was a super motivator for donations at the GHS Holiday Market, which was a huge fundraiser for the girls hockey team so that we could attend a tournament in February. She eagerly welcomed all guests to the event, creating a fantastic first impression of our students and school, which definitely led to some serious donations that supported student council and the girls hockey team. She’s also been motivating her teammates by arranging extra ice for practicing essential skills and working on figuring out other ways to fill needs on the team to kick off our season positively.
As members of the boys’ hockey team, this goaltending tandem has been absolutely fantastic through the first month of the season. During hard-fought games against Almaguin and Huntsville, and with an incredible victory over BMLSS, both Quinn and Aiden have stepped up to the challenge and proven to their opponents that the Gryphons should not be taken lightly. Their skill and confidence was also on display in their first tournament of the season, in which the Gryphons played an amazing day of hockey, but lost in overtime, in the championship final. Well done so far Quinn and Aiden, keep it going the rest of the season!
