A Gravenhurst man who sold a car that wasn’t his had to answer for his actions in court last week.
William Page, 42, pled guilty to possession of stolen property and a breach of undertaking last week in Bracebridge court.
Court heard that Page was living in Gravenhurst, when he decided to sell a vehicle belonging to another person who lived on the same property. He called the auto wreckers and forged a signature when they came to collect the vehicle. He was paid $200 for the car but it was later reported stolen and he was tracked down using a description provided by the wreckers.
Two days later the OPP spotted Page in the driveway of the house where he had been ordered not to be, and he was charged again with breaching conditions.
He was ultimately sentenced to 12 months probation a $300 fine and a requirement to pay back the $200.
