Gravenhurst Starbucks grand opening on Friday

The Town of Gravenhurst will officially welcome its first Starbucks location this Friday.

A ribbon cutting and official welcome from Deputy Mayor Heidi Lorenz and members of council will take place at 9:30 am.

Gravenhurst Starbucks will offer the coffee franchise’s full menu including breakfast, lunch, snacks, sweets, cold and hot beverages.

Starbucks opened its first location in Seattle in 1971. As of November 2021, the company had 33,833 stores in 80 countries.

The name was inspired by the novel Moby Dick and was meant to evoke the seafaring tradition of the early coffee traders.
