The photo contest is a fun way to celebrate the joy and comfort your pet brings you (or honour a past pet in memory) while helping raise funds for Hospice Muskoka whose services help provide comfort, companionship, and even moments of joy to those in our communities facing end-of-life and bereavement challenges.
The top thirteen vote-getting pet photos will be featured in our 2025 JOY OF PETS WALL CALENDAR
FOUR WAYS TO PARTICIPATE

Enter Your Pet
- You can enter starting March 15, 2024
- Select “Enter Contest” to the right
- Submit the most adorable photo of your pet, hi-resolution preferred. One pet per entry.
- Tell us a little about your pet – their name, character, how they bring you joy
- Entry fee is $20.00 which gives your pet their first 20 votes & you get a charitable tax receipt
How to Win
- Voting is online March 15 – April 5th.
- Each vote costs $1 donation with a 5 vote minimum per transaction
- Share your pet’s contest page with friends and family asking them to vote. Explain that their votes help raise money to provide hospice and grief services in South and West Muskoka ($1 donation = 1 vote)
Prizes:
The top thirteen vote-getters will be featured in our 2025 Joy of Pets wall calendar, one per month.
The pet with the most votes gets the biggest bragging rights, 1st choice of which month they appear in the calendar plus a free copy of the calendar, and a $100.00 cash prize from our sponsors.
The pet with the second most votes gets almost as big bragging rights, 2nd choice of which month they appear in the calendar plus a free copy of the calendar, and a $75.00 cash prize from our sponsors.
The pet with the third most votes can do some bragging and gets 3rd choice of which month they appear in the calendar plus a free copy of the calendar, and a $50.00 cash prize from our sponsors.

Want to Guarantee Your Pet’s Photo in the Calendar?
Celebrate your pet’s birthday or adoption day, or honour a pet in memoriam, by reserving a date square for their photo. For a $15 donation, your pet’s photo will appear on the day of your choice in the calendar. Just choose your favourite photo and then choose a day and pay!
First come, first served. Once a date has been reserved, it will no longer be available. You can use the same photo as your contest entry, or use a different photo for your date square. And you need not enter the contest if you just want your pet’s picture in the calendar.
