A woman who almost hit several vehicles before colliding with the guard rail had several different drugs in her system, a Bracebridge court heard recently.
Appearing last month in a Bracebridge courtroom. Lindsey Hill, 38, of Barrie pled guilty to impaired driving.
Court heard that on June 3, 2023, Bracebridge OPP received multiple 911 calls regarding a potentially impaired driver on Highway 11 northbound. Callers reported the vehicle had nearly struck multiple other cars before crashing into the guardrail near the Canning Road exit. Court heard the driver, Hill, then attempted to leave the scene with her dog, but witnesses made efforts to stop her from driving until police arrived.
The OPP observed signs of drug use and a drug test ultimately turned up evidence of recent use of cocaine, fentanyl and methadone.
Hill was sentenced to a $2,500 fine, a two-year driving ban and one year of probation.
