An impaired driver in Huntsville recently admitted to crashing her car twice in one day.
Appearing in a Bracebridge courtroom, Lisa Young, 54, pleaded guilty to driving with over 80 mg per 100 ml of blood in her system.
Court heard that on January 21, 2022, the OPP were contacted about a motor vehicle crash in Huntsville.
Court heard that Young had crashed into a ditch but was helped out by a passing motorist. However, she subsequently crashed into a ditch a second time.
When questioned by police, Young admitted she had been drinking before getting behind the wheel. She ultimately blew readings of 220 mg per 100 ml of blood – more than double the legal limit.
The court heard the offence was Young’s second impaired driving conviction. However, the Justice said because the first offence had occurred several years ago and Young has now entered treatment, he was willing to agree to 30 days of house arrest and 18 months of probation, along with a two-year driving ban.
