A Huntsville driver was left on the edge following a drinking and driving accident earlier this year.
Scott Macham, 34, of Uxbridge recently pleaded guilty in a Bracebridge courtroom to operating a vehicle with over 80 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood.
Court heard that on Aug. 27, 2022, at approximately 2:25 pm the police were called to a single-vehicle collision on Ravenscliffe Road in Huntsville. The caller reported that the vehicle hit a guardrail on the road and became stuck.
When police arrived they found Macham in the driver’s seat of the vehicle, which was hanging precariously on the edge of a steep embankment.
Police determined Macham had been drinking and he ultimately blew readings of 290 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood, more than triple the legal limit.
Macham was sentenced to a $2,500 fine and a 12-month driving ban.
