An impaired driver tore through Gravenhurst before getting collared by police, a Bracebridge court heard recently.
Dylan Holder, 23, of Orangeville, was in court for sentencing after pleading guilty to impaired driving-related offences.
Court heard that on Friday March 21, 2025, just before 11:00 p.m., a Bracebridge OPP officer was conducting proactive patrols in the town of Gravenhurst and became concerned about the driving behaviour of a motorist on Winewood Avenue.
Court hear the driver, later identified as Holder, was seen speeding through residential areas, striking a snowbank and running a stop sign.
The officer attempted to pull Holder over, and he pulled into a driveway on Forest Glen but leapt out of the vehicle leaving it in drive and ran towards the residence, court heard. The police managed to grab Holder before he got into the residence. Multiple open beer cans were found inside his truck and he ultimately blew double the legal limit for alcohol.
Holder was sentenced to an 18 month driving ban and 60 days of house arrest.
