The partnership involves two independently operated breweries, each with strong roots in the region. With this merger, the new organization is projected to rank among the top 10 breweries in Ontario, with a combined production capacity exceeding 20,000 hectolitres annually and a workforce of more than 200 employees. The companies bring almost 30 years of combined brewing experience. Furthermore, this merger is expected to improve retail distribution and brand recognition in the Muskoka region, now encompassing six restaurants, taprooms, and event venues.
Long-time Sawdust City executives Natalie Archer and Sam Corbeil will assume senior roles within the new organization. As the organization transitions, Sawdust City Founder Rob Engman will move from daily operational tasks to a consulting position, primarily focusing on real estate matters related to the business.
