Man Sentenced After Threatening Children Outside Local Pub

A 31-year-old Huntsville man has been sentenced after admitting to causing a disturbance in downtown Huntsville last summer.

A Bracebridge court recently heard that on July 21, 2025, at about 6:30 p.m., Ontario Provincial Police were called to On the Docks Pub on Main Street after reports of a man making disturbing comments that left people feeling threatened.

According to an agreed statement of facts, Dylan Alvey made remarks that caused concern among members of the public, including telling a group of children in the area that he was going to rape and kill them.

Alvey, who has a prior criminal record, pleaded guilty to causing a disturbance.

A Bracebridge court sentenced him to an 18-month suspended sentence, during which he will be subject to probation and must comply with court-ordered conditions.
