Muskoka driver crashes, registers triple the limit

An impaired driver who crashed into a tree will be off the road for the next year, a Bracebridge court recently determined.

Jason Bolle, 42, was recently convicted of driving with over 80 mg of blood in 100 ml of blood stemming from an incident on June 10, 2020.

Court heard that on that day police received a call about a truck in a ditch on Gibson Bay Road northwest of Huntsville at roughly 4:30 pm.

When the OPP arrived they found the vehicle had left the roadway, struck a tree and suffered extensive front damage. The police questioned the driver, Bolle, and smelled alcohol on his breath. A breathalyzer test administered later revealed readings of 250 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood – more than triple the legal limit.

Court heard that Bolle has no previous criminal record.

He was sentenced to a $2,000 fine and a one-year driving ban.
