Muskoka home sales plunging versus 2021

Real estate sales are down across Muskoka for 2022 and particularly when it comes to waterfront property.

The latest statistics released by the Lakelands Association of Realtors indicate new listings in their north region are following the trend of slower sales, as they have decreased slightly over the past 12 months.

According to the October stats for the year to date, waterfront sales decreased from 1,477 in 2021 to 797 this year. Non-waterfront sales decreased from 1,380 in 2021 to 944 for the same time this year.

New listings of waterfront properties decreased from 1,975 in 2021 to 1,696 for 2022. Non-waterfront listings have also decreased slightly from 1,756 to 1,663.

Lakelands reports they are currently holding 2.1 months of non-waterfront inventory versus 1.2 months of inventory at the same time last year. Waterfront inventory is now up to 3.6 months versus 1.7 months in 2021.

Lakelands north region includes Algonquin Highlands, Bracebridge, Dysart et al, Georgian Bay Township, Gravenhurst, Highlands East, Huntsville, Lake of Bays, Minden Hills, Muskoka Lakes, Parry Sound and the Archipelago.
