South Muskoka Doppler is pleased to offer the latest results from the Muskoka Hornets Baseball Association:

August 9

The 9U rep team played their final games of the season this weekend, playing Orillia on Thursday night and a very hot double header in Richmond Hill on Saturday.

August 8

The 15U Hornets played a double-header against the Scarborough Stingers at Kerr Park on Saturday (August 6). The Hornets split the double-header, losing 8-3 in Game One and winning 10-6 in Game Two.

July 31

15U Hornets split their games against the North York Blues yesterday in North York, winning the first 4-3 and losing the second 9-7.

July 12

Gabriel Jason and Mark Holm led the way for the hometown boys as the beat Ajax 18u Elite 14-2 at Kerr Park on Sunday.

Jason and Holm paced the offensive attack, going a combined 7 for 7.

Holm continued his masterful start to the year on the mound – allowing 4 hits, 0 earned runs, and 12 strike outs throwing the complete game in 100 pitches. Holm has stretched his streak of no earned runs allowed to 31 2/3 innings.

The home side took the loss in game 2 by a score of 5-4. Archer Westgarth threw 6 innings, only allowing 5 hits and 3 earned runs. Westgarth threw exceptionally well, but the locals ran out of steam and gave up the lead in the 6th and Ajax did not look back.

Jason and Holm paced the offense in game 2 as well, each chipping in 2 more hits. Jason and Holm went a combined 11 for 14 on the day.

A great day on the field, and an eye opener to the boys, showing that they can compete with elite programs
