Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigating a water related incident on Lake Muskoka in Gravenhurst.
On April 28, 2024 at 11:20 a.m. Bracebridge OPP officers, along with Muskoka EMS and the Gravenhurst Fire Department responded to an address on Muskoka Road 169 near Glen Echo Road in Gravenhurst regarding a possible drowning. Loved ones called 9-1-1 to report that a 25-30-year-old Toronto area man, who is visiting the area, took a kayak out onto Lake Muskoka near Taylor Island and encountered difficulties causing him to enter the water. The search began quickly and the Bracebridge OPP marine unit members attended to assist in the search, the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) will be attending as well.
The investigation is ongoing and updates will be provided as they become available.
