A Muskoka cocaine dealer will spend the next several years in prison after pleading guilty to many offences in a Bracebridge courtroom recently.
Clayton Eisan, 35 was in court for sentencing after having previously pled guilty to possessing a handgun without a license and while prohibited, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, obstructing a police officer, impaired driving, multiple counts of breaching court order, cutting off a GPS monitor and stealing a prize pack from an A&W.
According to an OPP report, on Sept. 14, 2024, at 12:10 a.m., a Bracebridge OPP officer patrolling on Muskoka Road 169, near Acton Island Road, noticed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed.
The officer noted the driver of the vehicle, Eisan, showed visible signs of impairment. Once arrested, Esian provided a false name to the police. In the car, the officer found an unlicensed Smith & Wesson revolver, multiple knives, and 127g of cocaine in two separate bags. Esian was also found to have cocaine and THC in his system, leading to the impaired charges.
Released while awaiting trial, Esian was arrested again on October 17, 2024, when police went to check on him and found he was not in his court-ordered location. Police found him a short time later in a hotel room with a female who he had been court-ordered not to associate with. They also determined he had tampered with his GPS tracking system.
Court heard Esian has a previous criminal record which includes trafficking convictions.
He was ultimately sentenced to 560 days in jail on his provincial offences and 1,230 days on his federal charges.
