Pre-Consultation now required for some planning applications in Muskoka Lakes

As of January 17th, 2023, applicants who need a Zoning By-law Amendment, Official Plan Amendment, Site Plan and Condominium or Plan of Subdivision Applications to proceed with development in the Township of Muskoka Lakes must now consult with planning staff.

“This new process will help both staff and applicants in streamlining approvals,” said Mayor Peter Kelley. “Through the pre-consultation process, applicants will be assisted in determining submission requirements early in the process thereby reducing the number of incomplete and premature applications.”

While a pre-consultation is not mandatory for Minor Variance or Consent Applications, it is strongly recommended.
