Swift River Limited Partnership will complete the Bala North Dam sluice gate installation project with final adjustments to the sluice gate in Bay #4. This two-day activity involves temporarily removing the superstructure and the sluice gate, retrofitting the downstream pads, and reinstalling the gate and superstructure. This work will conclude the project that began in fall 2024.
Construction will take place from March 10-12, 2025. A crane will be positioned at the south end of the parking area, next to Margaret Burgess Park (please refer to the figure). While minor traffic disruptions are expected, one lane of Muskoka Road 169 will remain open at all times.
