On July 12, the Royal Bank generously supported Parry Sound /Muskoka charitable organization: The Friends Supporting Those With Long term Healthcare Needs with a $10,000 donation.

The Friends is dedicated to helping vulnerable seniors and those living with disabilities to achieve quality of life through accessible supportive housing and a variety of personal support services and programs. The agency employs over 100 people across the Districts of Parry Sound and Muskoka,  serving approximately 900 area residents.

In conversation with agency CEO Marliese Gause, Parry Sound senior officials at RBC were surprised to learn about the active role The Friends has been playing for over 36 years in the area.  Brian McGonnegal, an RBC group consultant shared that his own family has had instances where care assistance like that of The Friends’ was desperately needed. “We are aware that agencies like this need our support more than ever and RBC feels strongly about supporting our local communities to help them thrive”

Ms. Gause, on behalf of the organization, says, “the Royal Bank’s donation is gratefully received at a time when resources are low and needs are high. The funding will go to programs serving those in our communities who desperately need attention and additional help.”

If you or your organization would like to make a difference in the Districts of Parry Sound and Muskoka, your help is most appreciated. For more information or to make a donation, please visit www.thefriends.on.ca  for more details and to see how you can get involved, or call: 705.746.5102.
