One of Canada’s most celebrated journalists and radio personalities, Anna Maria Tremonti, will speak at the Algonquin Theatre in Huntsville as YWCA Muskoka’s keynote speaker for the She Talks Muskoka fundraising event.
Two-time Gemini Award winner, Tremonti will speak about Change and Resilience, drawing from her own life experiences. For 17 years, Anna Maria Tremonti hosted CBC Radio One’s The Current, where her mix of hard-edged journalism and deep empathy helped build the show into Canada’s most listened-to radio program. She is also the host of Welcome to Paradise in which Tremonti opens up about her personal experience with domestic violence.
Also speaking that evening is Kelly Jones, a YWCA coordinator of Circles Muskoka and workshop facilitator who will share her unique perspective on the journey many women face to build an independent life for themselves, free from abuse and fear.
She Talks Muskoka will be held at The Algonquin Theatre in Huntsville on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at 7:30pm. Ticket are available now at The Algonquin Theatre Box Office (705-789-4975 or Toll Free 1-877-989-4975) or online at algonquintheatre.ca
Supported by Lead Sponsor, Kim O’Grady, Broker with Chestnut Park Real Estate Brokerage, the funds raised at She Talks Muskoka go back into the community through YWCA Muskoka programs that lift up women, youth and families and create positive change in their lives. YWCA Muskoka is a local charity that works to prevent gender-based violence, build economic resilience, and promote mental health and well-being for girls, women and gender diverse people.
In addition, local and national businesses have donated items to a virtual silent auction in support of YWCA Muskoka. The silent auction will open for bidding to anyone in Muskoka and beyond on March 22 – more information can be found at www.shetalksmuskoka.ca
