The goal is to gather as many likes as possible on the South Muskoka Bears U15 video on the website.

Our story begins with the absolute heartbreaking loss of Tyler Gagne, a young hockey player from the opposing team who tragically passed away during a game against our U18 team, watched by many from our U15 team. This devastating event deeply shook the entire hockey community. While our association was striving to support Tyler’s family and raise funds in his memory, another blow came when one of our own U15 players, Cole Orr, was hit by a car and sustained severe injuries, including a partially severed left foot. He is currently still in intensive care. As the community rallied around Cole through fundraising and acts of kindness, even more hardship struck. During this challenging time, the U15 assistant coach’s 3-year-old son Nolan—who is also the brother of U15 player Logan—was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. The South Muskoka Minor Hockey Association has faced an overwhelming amount of tragic news, making it incredibly difficult for everyone to find their way forward.

It truly is inspiring to see how the South Muskoka Minor Hockey Association has come together with such resilience, compassion, and solidarity in the face of so many hardships. Their unwavering support for their players and families, and their dedication to spreading kindness and goodwill throughout the community, exemplifies the very best of what sports and community spirit can be.

This collective strength not only helps those directly affected but also reinforces the profound values of empathy, unity, and hope that remind us all to cherish life, never take anything for granted, and recognize the importance of coming together during challenging times. The Bears are more than a team—they are a family, a shining example of how love and kindness can inspire healing and strengthen bonds within our communities. Your belief in supporting them to grow and continue this legacy of kindness would be very deserving, truly heartfelt and commendable.
