Suspected drowning on Muskoka River

Members of the Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently investigating a suspected drowning on the Muskoka River in Bracebridge.

On Saturday, July 3, 2021, shortly after 7:00 p.m., officers from the Bracebridge OPP, along with Bracebridge Fire, responded to a swimmer in distress on the Muskoka River off Golden Beach Road. The 18-year-old male did not resurface and search efforts are underway.

The OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) is on route to assist with the search.
