THE SOLE SURVIVOR OF A FLEET OF 21 STEAMSHIPS!

In 1973, with support from steamship enthusiasts from the Muskoka Steamship & Historical Society and the Ontario Road Builders, the RMS Segwun was officially re-launched in 1974 by Pierre Elliott Trudeau and, after further restoration, Segwun began her new career on the Muskoka lakes in 1981.

    York University Professor Gordon Shaw donated $250,000 towards the restoration. He left a great legacy. A lovely, kind person. Without his generous donation which today would be worth over $1 million this project might not have happened. He taught Transportation at the Schulich School of Business
