We asked people on the street what they think of the 2025 federal election and what they consider the most important issue

“I think this is one of the first times that I’ve been in an election where I think I’m voting for the leader rather than for the party and that really hasn’t happened to me before. I actually feel sorry for the minority parties because they haven’t got a chance of doing anything, but normally, I would prefer to have four or five parties.
“I think it’s basically how to respond to the United States, to the tariffs, and what the impact will be for our economy in the long term. It means a kind of a wholesale change in how we set our economy up and what relationships we build with other countries. So that’s a massive job!”
“I think the election is timely. There was a little bit of criticism that we shouldn’t have called it but I think it was a good idea to call it this time. I think both main parties are ready for it and I obviously have my favourites but I hope we get through it and we’re more united than we were before as a country.
“For me the main issue is climate change which is an issue that not as many people seem to care about anymore with the whole trade issue and you know Trump and everything but I think that’s still very important and I try to encourage people to look at parties’ climate change policy and I personally would not vote for a party that doesn’t have some kind of climate change plan, a real plan not just a slogan.”

“I guess with politics in general, I really don’t like the politics, but I guess it’s down to two-party voting at the present moment. I favour one side, but I think the country is pretty divided.
“Right now, for me, the most important issue would probably be the sovereignty issue. We can deal with the internal problems, but if we don’t have a country to deal with them, it won’t matter, so I say deal with the neighbour and put the family issues aside.”
“The election seems to be centered quite a bit on what’s going in the United States.
“My biggest hope is that we don’t lean too far towards the US system. I want to see us maintain our integrity as Canadians.
“It’s Important to me that we don’t see cuts to things like education, or any infringement on a woman’s right to make decisions regarding her own body.”

If people read the comments by Isabel Pereira of the Peoples Party of Canada they will see that they are the only ones that make sense. Our housing crisis has been fueled by the insane Liberal immigration quotas and those quotas need to be drastically reduced. The climate change rhetoric is another scam designed to make rich people (globalists) richer and poor people poorer. There is enough evidence by highly qualified climatologists to show that CO2 is not the threat that the alarmists are using to heighten fear levels and manipulate the public. People need to stop being fearful and research what the experts are saying. Much of our irregular weather is being caused by geoengineering/weather modification activity. Chemicals are being sprayed in our skies to deliberately affect our weather, and climate change is being blamed for it. This is a scheme the Liberals endorsed without telling Canadians what the effect would be. And healthcare is, and should be, a Provincial issue. The Feds should not be influencing healthcare policies to suit their political agenda. Unfortunately, the PPS will not get anywhere close to a majority to make a difference, despite their policies being in Canadians’ best interest. Canadians are fixated on the Liberal vs. Conservative paradigm. So, as usual, Canadians are likely to vote to get someone out of office rather than voting for someone that is most suitable. But hopefully we can get rid of these Liberal criminals that have been so bad for this country and try and hold the next government more accountable. .
