Swimmer brings back 7 gold and 1 silver from Huronia Regional Champs

From the Muskoka Aquatic Club (MUSAC):

Muskoka Aquatic Club’s athletes have been rocking pools all over Ontario recently, especially our 12 and under swimmers.

Gina Willett dominated the 10 and under age category this competition season. She swept the top of the podium at the Barrie Aquafest earning 7 gold medals and the high point award for the top 10 and under female swimmer of the meet. She earned another 7 gold medals in Orillia at the Elaine Thompson Memorial swim meet. After returning to Barrie for Huronia Regional Championships in February, she came home with 7 golds, 1 silver, and the High Point Award as the top female 10 and under swimmer in the region.

Gina also attended her first Provincial Championship meet in Etobicoke in late February. She aged up to the 11 year old category days before the event, earning personal bests in both of her primary events, 50 and 100 meter freestyle. Gina is a force in the pool. She is an energetic, young talent with much more success on the horizon. Stay tuned for news about her results and the results of other talented athletes from Muskoka Aquatic Club.

Registration for Muskoka Aquatic Club’s 3rd and final session of the season is now open. MUSAC has pre competitive programming (learning to swim) for swimmers aged 4-10, competitive programming for swimmers aged 6-18, and adult programs for swimmers aged 18-99.
