Windermere collision claims life of motorcyclist

One person is deceased after a single-vehicle collision, northeast of Windermere in the Township of Muskoka Lakes.

Shortly after 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 31, 2025, members of the Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Muskoka Paramedic Services responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Windermere Road, just south of Dee Bank Road. A 45-year-old male of the City of Brampton, a lone motorcycle rider, was taken to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The investigation by the Bracebridge Detachment is ongoing, with assistance from members of the OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team.

Windermere Road was closed for several hours for an on-scene investigation and has since re-opened.
