A woman who had been drinking and driving had her day in court recently.
Audrey Chisholm appeared in a Bracebridge courtroom and pled guilty to careless driving stemming from an incident that occurred on Oct. 5, 2022.
The court heard that on that day at roughly 10 pm the police responded to a collision on Highway 11 South in Gravenhurst. When police arrived they found a vehicle which had crashed through the guard rail on the exit ramp and driven into a ditch.
Police smelled alcohol on the driver, Chisholm, and she was taken to the hospital for her injuries.
Chisholm was sentenced to a $1,000 fine and given 12 months probation, during which time she will need to have an interlock system installed in her vehicle to ensure there is no alcohol in her system.
