Year in Review: Top business stories of 2023

As 2023 winds to a close, South Muskoka Doppler is looking back on some of our most-read articles of the year that was.

Here are the three most-read business articles of 2023:

1. Downtown Bracebridge fast becoming Muskoka’s cuisine capital

In October, we reported on how the Hiram and Taylor area of Bracebridge is quickly becoming Muskoka’s go-to eclectic cuisine corner.

In just a few short years, this small section of downtown Bracebridge has added a market, a butcher shop, a bakery and now an authentic Mexican restaurant and an exciting new tapas restaurant and gastropub.

2. Long-time owner of Cleveland’s House passes away

In April we looked back on the life and legacy of Robert “Bob” Cornell, who passed away at the age of 90 at Andy’s House in Port Carling.

Cornell spent more than 50 years working at Clevelands House resort in Minett and was the owner from 1969 until 2007.
