A Gravenhurst man found himself on the wrong side of the law after police found a beer can in the cup holder of his crashed car.
Earlier this month, Nolan Mee, 18 pleaded guilty to impaired driving stemming from an incident on Oct. 24, 2022.
Court heard that on that day at roughly 3:42 am they received a call from a motorist reporting that another vehicle had passed him at a high speed on Highway 11 in Bracebridge before crashing. Although the vehicle was a write-off, the driver, Mee was uninjured.
The police found a beer in the cup holder of the vehicle and ultimately determined that Mee was impaired at the time of the crash.
He was fined $1,500 and sentenced to 12 months probation.
