Bracebridge traffic complaint results in charges

 Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person with several offenses after responding to a traffic complaint on Saturday morning.

Just before 9:00 a.m. on May 6, 2023, a member of the public called police regarding the concerning driving behaviour of another motorist on Ecclestone Drive in Bracebridge. Bracebridge OPP officers located the vehicle a short distance away on Milton Street and conducted a traffic stop. Subsequently, police arrested and charged 32-year-old Mackenzie WEAVER of Bracebridge the following:

  • Operation While Impaired by Drug CC 320.14(1)(a)
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking CDSA 5(2)
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order CC 733.1(1) X 2
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon CC 91(2)

He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on June 27, 2023 to answer to his charges.
