From the Distrcit of Muskoka:
The underground water and wastewater pipes running beneath our roads in Gravenhurst have been serving residents and businesses since 1944.
‘Bay Street and Beyond’ is a partnership project with the District of Muskoka and Town of Gravenhurst, set to begin next year.
This is more than just a construction project; it’s a commitment to safeguarding and maintaining the underground critical services we depend on every day and ensure that our communities remain connected.
We invite you to join us at our first in-person Community Information Session on December 14, 2023 – we’re putting drinking water, stormwater, wastewater, roads and transportation under the spotlight.

Mac Redden says
The District is the worst group of people our neighbourhoods have ever come across.
Drunken sailors are thriftier.
Worse than Bracebridge with it’s new arena.
3.3X the original budget with a year to go.
Don’t be surprised it ends up 4X!!! the budget like many District projects. Baysville was 5X!!!
Rapidly approaching a BILLION!! dollars blown on water and sewer projects by the District for only 12,000 connections resulting in the highest cost services in Ontario.
$200/month or $2,400/year including the cost shown/hidden on our property taxes. And rapidly rising.
18!! mostly tiny, underutilized water and sewer plants believe it or not.
They are blowing another $65-$100 million in Huntsville right now. For practically zero new connections.
For some more accurate District logos go to: https://sites.google.com/site/opposebracebridgesewers/
Just don’t complain about the District “Smugly Wasting Taxpayer” with a giant sign on your front lawn or your home could be blown up.
True story.
A picture of the giant sign is also on the website as well as many, many other facts.
Services costs are so high here it’s possible to save $1,000/year with extreme water conservation.
Many techniques are explained on the website.
