Don’t get caught off guard, make sure your vehicle registration is current

Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have been using the Automatic Licence Plate Reader (ALPR) for some time and many vehicles have been observed as being unregistered.

This has resulted in numerous drivers being stopped and being either charged or warned about the offence of driving a motor vehicle with no currently validated permit which carries a total fine of $110 under the Highway Traffic Act.

Remember, while there is no longer a fee for a licence plate sticker there is still a responsibility to register your vehicle.

Vehicle owners can register vehicles by attending a Service Ontario location in person, or online at  https://www.ontario.ca/page/vehicle-registration
