Impaired driver loses control, ends up on lawn

A Washago man recently appeared in Bracebridge court to answer for losing control of his vehicle.

William Nicholson, 51, recently pled guilty to impaired driving stemming from an April 30, 2023 incident in Huntsville.

Court heard that on that day at roughly 8:30 pm, police were called to an accident on West Road. The driver had lost control of his vehicle and jumped the curb before coming to rest on the front lawn of a residence.

Police could smell alcohol from the driver, Nicholson, who subsequently became angry and displayed assaultive behaviour, court heard.

Nicholson was sentenced to a $1,000 fine and a one-year driving ban.
