From the Town of Bracebridge:
The Town of Bracebridge is committed to supporting the health and wellness of our community and we recognize the importance of a new hospital to our growing town.
Our local health care professionals are passionate about serving the community and providing fundamental care to everyone in Muskoka. In order for the hospital redevelopment plan to succeed, it must be endorsed by the doctors and key stakeholders in both north and south Muskoka. I encourage Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare to continue to work toward a solution that achieves this endorsement.
This redevelopment will support health care in Muskoka for generations. We have an opportunity to bring close to $1 billion in health care investment to Muskoka, and it is vital that we take the time to develop a plan that supports everyone in our municipality. I will continue to advocate for a plan that is best for Bracebridge and all of south Muskoka.

Can someone translate the Maloney statement into plain English?
Is he for keeping the existing 54 beds in Bracebridge? Or not. With all of his development approvals and the province pushing more development with the feds allowing millions more into Canada every year, we will need double the current beds. Not a cut to 36.
Thr people of Bracebridge and Muskoka deserve better. WE the PEOPLE are the most important stakeholders
Thankyou Mayor Maloney for speaking up. It does seem that MAHC is lacking a vision for the future, and the fact that Muskoka and East Parrysound will only increase in population. MAHC should be aiming for 2 acute care hospitals with enough beds to accommodate future growth. 36 beds in South Muskoka is not enough.
