Also Spiers in-laws, the late Rae (Basil), Joyce (late Don),Joe(Shirley), Allan (late Dorelle) (Sandra); Lois (Keith), Lynne (late Aubrey), Connie.
Those who knew Lyle appreciated his fun-loving nature. Always ready with a joke and a smile, his relationships lasted a lifetime. Some of the adventures Lyle was always planning or scheming included becoming a licensed body mechanic and journeyman, playing guitar in a 5 piece band (including “Take 5” as house-band at Hidden Valley 1966) and using his passion for photography to create a successful business with his partner Janice by his side. “Lyle McIntyre Photography” was registered in 1972. Lyle’s skill lead to achieving many Provincial, National and International Child Portrait, Family Portrait, Landscape, and Commercial awards including being named Canada’s National Professional Photographer of the year in 1986. His art is distributed around the world.
Lyle loved boating and sailed on Muskoka Lakes, Florida and Georgian Bay – one of his many favourite areas for shooting landscapes compiled in an art book titled “Silver & Stone”.
Early years with his family would find them paddling and portaging through Algonquin Park, spending time at his parent’s cottage on Mary Lake, and practicing portrait photography on each family member, often joked about in later years. He loved people, friends, and family. His children and grandchildren were precious to him.
The family would like to thank the many caregivers at Muskoka Shores Nursing Home who befriended Lyle and appreciated his kind nature.
A celebration of life will take place at Patterson Kaye Resort (1360 Golden Beach Rd, Bracebridge, ON P1L1W8) on Saturday, May 25, 204 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm with tributes taking place at 2:30 pm. Janice would appreciate an RSVP to [email protected].
