Rainfall warning in effect for Muskoka

Rainfall, combined with melting snow, is expected.

Hazard:
Rainfall amounts of 20 to 40 mm.

Timing:
Tonight into Saturday morning.

Discussion:
Two weather systems will affect the area over the next two days. The first will move through today bringing some snow or rain. Any snow will change to rain this afternoon or evening and become heavy overnight as a second and much stronger system begins to move in. The frozen ground has a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall. Total amounts of 20 to 40 mm are possible, particularly in areas that receive thunderstorms tonight.
