A Muskoka man will spend the next several years in prison after pleading guilty to stealing firearms and dealing drugs.
Last month in a Bracebridge court, Dallas Thomas-Toll, 22, was sentenced for a range of charges including drug trafficking, break and enter and mischief.
Court heard that in December of 2021 police found several stolen items in a vehicle belonging to Thomas-Toll’s girlfriend. They discovered that the items belonged to Thomas-Toll and had been stolen during a break-in at a seasonal residence. Items stolen included firearms, cash and jewelry. Four of the firearms stolen were recovered but a fifth remains unaccounted for, court heard.
Thomas-Toll was also under a firearms ban at the time of the incident.
He was released from jail but breached conditions. When police attempted to re-arrest Thomas-Toll in March of 2022 he was found to have an iPhone, $620, a knife and 28.8 g of fentanyl in his possession.
Thomas-Toll then proceeded to damage several items at the Bracebridge OPP station following his arrest, resulting in mischief charges.
Court heard that Thomas-Toll has already served time for break and enter and stealing firearms.
He apologized to the court but was ultimately sentenced to 56 months in jail, less 15.5 months already served in custody.
