Stolen Gravenhurst car now linked to missing girl

*Update: From the Barrie police at 9:40 am on July 3: “#BarriePolice has just confirmed that Katie Martin has been located in North Bay by the OPP and is no longer considered missing. Thank you to the public and the media for your assistance.”

A car stolen from a pizza delivery driver in Gravenhurst is also connected to the disappearance of a 14-year-old Barrie girl.

Barrie 360 reported earlier today that Barrie Police have confirmed that they are searching for a missing 2009 Mazda 6i in connection with the case of a missing 14-year-old Katie Martin.

Barrie police reported earlier they are trying to locate Martin who was last seen today at her home at 12:30 am. Police said she may be in Ottawa with a 15-yr. old male (white) and a 23-yr. old male (black) in a 2009 Mazda 6i, licence CWPB246.

On June 30, Beacebridge OPP reported that the previous day officers responded to 9-1-1 calls reporting a robbery at 165 Old Muskoka Road in Gravenhurst where a delivery car was stolen. The OPP said two unknown suspects presented an edged weapon, assaulted the driver and stole his vehicle. The victim suffered minor injuries and was able to run to a nearby residence and call for help. The vehicle named was a black 2009 Mazda four-door car bearing Ontario marker CWPB246 and had a Dominos Pizza sign attached to the top

Barrie 360 said police confirmed to them that both investigations are connected.

Anyone with information on either investigation is asked to contact police.
