The Muskoka Community Foundation is pleased to announce the creation of the Feed Muskoka Fund. This fund intends to support organizations within the food insecurity sector that serve communities in Muskoka. Grants from the Feed Muskoka Fund charitable organizations working in the areas of food insecurity, supporting operational and infrastructure needs.
Lynn DeCaro, Executive Director of the Foundation, welcomes the new Fund. “If we are going to tackle food insecurity in our Muskoka communities, we need solutions that bridge the gaps in our current system. This is why we are excited to announce a new fund that is designed to empower the organizations who are doing this critical work”.
The Feed Muskoka Fund will support Muskoka’s 10 local food banks as well as multiple food insecurity programs that operate across Muskoka. DeCaro noted “The focus of this fund is about more than filling plates – it is about finding sustainable ways to address the real problems our communities are facing”. The fund will support innovative solutions that include:
• Reducing food costs by addressing gaps in infrastructure that impact bulk ordering purchases • Strengthening organizational capacity to improve services
• Promoting local food production and the processing of food rescue items
• Creating educational opportunities for skills development and training opportunities for service users
Projects supported by this fund will be identified by the food insecurity sector and foster innovative solutions to support this important work.
The first contribution totaling $15,000.00 for this new fund came from the Windermere Golf & Country Club. When they heard about the new fund, they jumped into action hosting the 1st

Mike Campol, General Manager of Windermere Golf & Country Club said “the Board of Directors, Leadership Team, and members ended the 2024 golf season with a fun, social, inaugural tournament with the objective of raising funds for a cause that affects so many in our surrounding communities.
