Each month South Muskoka Doppler highlights a student in the co-op programs at both Bracebridge and Muskoka Lakes Secondary School (BMLSS) and Gravenhurst High School (GHS).
This month’s student of the month for BMLSS, brought to you by Stevenson Plumbing-Electrical-HVAC is Joanna Cook.
Joanna is a Grade 12 student at BMLSS doing her co-op placement at G. Cook and Sons With Care.
Joanna has a unique placement where she is training to become an apprentice in five different trades. She has grown up around horses so it is only natural that she follows her passion as a horse groomer. She is also currently registered as an apprentice with OYAP (Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program) in heavy equipment operator for bulldozer, excavator and backhoe. And finally, when she can fit it into her busy schedule, she is learning how to be an arborist.
The sky’s the limit for Joanna, who is taking full advantage of becoming a journeyperson in Muskoka.
