Bracebridge OPP investigating fatal collision

Members of the Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a fatal single vehicle collision on Highway 400 north of Crooked Bay Road in Georgian Bay Township.

On April 22, 2023, shortly after 7:14 a.m., Bracebridge OPP, along with emergency services, responded to a motor vehicle rollover into the center median on Highway 400 north of Crooked Bay Road in Georgian Bay Township. The 64-year-old driver of the motor vehicle was transported to local hospital in Parry Sound, where he was later pronounced deceased. A 62-year-old passenger was transported to local hospital and later released.

Highway 400 northbound lanes were closed at Crooked Bay Road. OPP Technical Collision Investigators and Reconstructionists have completed their investigation and all lanes have since reopened.
