A beloved member of the Bracebridge community will be remembered on Jan. 21 and the public is invited to attend.
Speaking during a recent Town council meeting, Coun. Debbie Vernon called Crossthwaite “one of Bracebridge’s greatest citizens,” and said his family was encouraging members of the community to join them in celebrating his life. The celebration will take place between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. at the Bracebridge Center for Active Living (The Seniors Center) at 54 Dominion Street.
Crossthwaite passed away on Dec. 12 at the age of 57. He was well-known and active in the community, including as a member of the Legion and the Seniors Center.
“David’s friendly, kind, and selfless nature was recognized by The Rotary Club in 2014 when he was awarded The Citizen of the Year Award for his outstanding service and dedication to his community,” reads his obituary. “This was an award he was thrilled to receive and one he truly treasured.
