Drinking and driving ends in Hwy 118 crash

A Muskoka man was in court recently to answer for a crash that occurred last April.

Christopher Poole, 59, appeared in Bracebridge court and plead guilty to careless driving.

Court heard that on April 15, 2022, at roughly 1 am Bracebridge OPP were called to a collision on Highway 118 East at Black River Road. 

Police found a Ford on the side of the road with severe damage to one side of the vehicle.  When questioned by police, the driver, Poole, admitted to drinking earlier that day.

Court heard Poole had no previous criminal record and he was sentenced to a $1,000 fine and 18 months probation.
