A Muskoka man who drove up on the sidewalk before stopping in an intersection had a cocktail of drugs in his system, a Bracebridge court heard recently.
Christopher Therrien, 39, recently pled guilty to driving while impaired by drugs, stemming from an incident that occurred Aug. 4, 2022.
On that day just after midnight, police received a call from a concerned motorist who said she was following a suspected impaired driver in MacTier. Court heard the driver had jumped the curb and drove along the sidewalk. The car then came to a stop in an intersection facing the wrong direction, when police arrived.
The OPP reported the driver, Therrien, was confused and had trouble walking to the cruiser.
Blood tests turned up fentanyl, methadone, amphetamines and various other drugs.
Therrien was sentenced to a $1,000 fine and a one-year driving ban.
