A Huntsville driver recently admitted to driving with multiple drugs in his system, during a Bracebridge courtroom appearance.
Jed Payne, 47, pleaded guilty to impaired by a drug, stemming from an Oct. 19, 2021 incident.
Court heard that at roughly 3:14 am on that day police were on general patrol at Hwy 60 and Fairyview Lane when they observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign. They followed the vehicle which was “riding the centre line” court heard.
Police observed that once the driver, Payne, was stopped he was speaking quickly and acting as if his throat were very dry. They formed grounds to believe he was impaired and urine tests later turned up cocaine, methamphetamine and cannabis in his system.
Payne was sentenced to a $1,000 fine and one-year driving ban.
