A Gravenhurst woman who had five times the legal limit of alcohol when she crashed her car will be off the road for the next 12 months.
Melissa Courneyea, 41, recently pled guilty to driving with over 80 mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood in her system.
A Bracebridge court heard that on Dec. 21, 2022, the OPP received a call regarding a single-vehicle collision on Brydon’s Bay Road in Gravenhurst. The police arrived at the scene of the collision and found Courneyea still in the driver’s seat.
The court heard that she smelled of alcohol and tests revealed levels of 401 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood.
She was ultimately sentenced to a $3,000 fine, 12 months probation and a 12-month driving ban.
