Driving with a can of beer in the center consul spelled problems for a Gravenhurst motorist recently.
Robin McIntee, 37, recently pled guilty in a Bracebridge courtroom to driving with over 80 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood in his system
Court heard that on July 21, 2022, Bracebridge OPP were on general patrol at roughly 7:30 am when they spotted a speeding vehicle on Tyron Drive in Gravenhurst.
Stopped on North Kahshe Lake Road, the police noticed a half-full “tall boy” beer can in the centre consul. When asked to take a breathalyzer, McIntee admitted, “I’m going to fail,” court heard. He ultimately blew 276 mg of alcohol, more than triple the legal limit.
Court head that McIntee has previously been convicted of impaired driving.
He was sentenced to 90 days of house arrest, two years of probation and a two-year driving ban.
