A criminal court recently heard how a dispute in Gravenhurst got out of hand and ended with one motorist chasing another around a parking lot.
Appearing in Bracebridge court, Aaron Clement, 35, pled guilty to dangerous driving stemming from an incident that occurred on Jan. 5, 2022.
Court heard that on that day police were called to Gravenhurst following a dispute between multiple parties.
Court heard that Clement was driving when he spotted a vehicle in the parking lot of a Gravenhurst restaurant which belonged to another man he had previously been in a dispute with. Clement stopped the car and his passenger got out and damaged the car. Clement then rammed his car into the other vehicle, causing significant damage to both vehicles, court heard. The two vehicles then chased one another around the parking lot in an unsafe manner, court heard.
Justice Edward Carlton said the matter was particularly concerning because it resulted in a dangerous situation in a public parking lot.
Clement was sentenced to a $1,000 fine and a one-year driving ban.
