A man with cocaine in his wallet had to answer for his poor driving in a Bracebridge courtroom recently.
Appearing in court on May 31, Nicholas Sheridan pled guilty to impaired driving stemming from a Jan. 27, 2022 incident in Bracebridge.
Court heard that on the day of the incident at 7:22 pm, police received a call about a possible impaired driver.
The Bracebridge OPP located the vehicle at the corner of Cedar Lane and Denis Drive and the driver, Sheridan, showed signs of impairment, court heard. Police also found cocaine in Sheridan’s wallet.
Although Sheridan blew under the legal limit for alcohol but it was suspected he was under the influence of drugs. Blood tests came back positive for cocaine and several other drugs.
At the time of the incident, Sheridan’s driver’s license was already suspended for failing to remain at the scene of an accident.
He was placed under house arrest for 40 days and under curfew for another 20 days. He was also given an 18-month driving ban.
