Members of the Huntsville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged two individuals with impaired operation over the Easter long weekend.
On April 8, 2023, at approximately 2:20 pm officers responded to a single-vehicle collision on Aspdin Road, in the Town of Huntsville. Officers were led into an impaired driving investigation.
As a result, Francis LEASON, 62-year-old from Huntsville has been charged with the following:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Operate unsafe vehicle
- Operate a motor vehicle without insurance
On April 10, 2023, after 11:30 pm on Main Street in the Town of Huntsville, a Huntsville OPP officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle.
As a result, Connor PANTALEO, 29-year-old from Huntsville has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused persons are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge, in May 2023. Their driver’s license was suspended for 90 days, and their vehicle was impounded for a period of 7 days.
The Huntsville OPP reminds motorists to plan ahead when consuming alcohol. Use a designated driver, cab, public transit, or stay overnight. Any amount of alcohol or drugs can impact your ability to make sound judgments.
